Safety Matters

Every Injury Prevented Counts

At Jiminy Peak, safety is not just a policy, it's something we practice every day. Whether you're operating a lift, grooming a trail, servicing equipment, preparing food, cleaning rooms, helping guests, or working in an office, every employee plays a role in creating a safe environment for themselves, their coworkers, and our guests.

It's easy to think that accidents happen to "someone else." The reality is that many workplace injuries begin with ordinary situations: a slick floor, a misplaced tool, an icy walkway, lifting something incorrectly, or simply rushing to get a task completed. While these hazards may seem small, they can quickly lead to injuries that affect not only an employee's workday, but also their time with family, hobbies, and overall quality of life.

One of the most important things we can do as a team is pay attention to the small details. Reporting hazards when you see them, wearing the proper protective equipment, using safe lifting techniques, following department procedures, and taking a moment to slow down when conditions change can all make a significant difference.

Safety is also about looking out for one another. If you notice a coworker taking an unnecessary risk or working in an unsafe condition, speak up. A simple reminder can prevent an injury and demonstrate the kind of teamwork that helps make Jiminy Peak a great place to work.

As we move into our busy winter season, it becomes even more important to remain aware of the conditions around us. Snow, ice, high guest volume, and long days can create additional challenges. Taking a few extra seconds to work safely is always worth it.

The best workplace injury is the one that never happens.

Every time we identify a hazard, clean up a spill, wear the right equipment, report a concern, or choose the safer option, we're helping build a stronger safety culture. These actions may seem small in the moment, but together they protect our employees, our guests, and our success as a resort.

Let's continue working together to make this our safest season yet. Every injury prevented truly counts.
