Safety Focus
Keeping Safety Top of Mind
Safety is everyone's responsibility, regardless of department or position. As we continue through the busy summer season and prepare for fall and winter operations, now is a great time to refresh our commitment to maintaining a safe workplace for employees and guests alike.
Prevent Slips, Trips, and Falls
Just like Jason Griffin says every time he has the chance to talk about safety, one of the most common workplace injuries can often be prevented by paying attention to our surroundings. Keep walkways clear, report damaged flooring or uneven surfaces, and clean up spills promptly when they occur. If you see something unsafe, don't assume someone else has already reported it.You may direct these hazards or concerns to your supervisor or manager.
Be Aware of Heat-Related Illness
For employees working outdoors, warm temperatures can increase the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, take breaks when needed, and watch for signs of heat-related illness in yourself and your coworkers.
Make Safety a Daily Habit
From using proper lifting techniques to following department procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, small safety practices performed consistently can have a significant impact.
As we move into the second half of the year, let's continue working together to maintain a culture where safety remains a top priority. Every safe decision helps protect our employees, our guests, and one another.
