This month, we want to recognize Craig Hadley, a groomer who has been part of Jiminy Peak for more than 35 years. Recently, we presented Craig with a plaque to say thank you for all his work throughout the years, and while a plaque is nice, it still doesn’t fully capture the impact of everything he’s done here.

If you’ve ever skied or ridden first thing in the morning and thought, “Wow, the mountain looks great today,” there’s a good chance Craig and company had something to do with that. Grooming is one of those jobs where, when it’s done right, most people don’t even think about it. That’s not because it’s easy, it’s because it takes experience, patience, and a lot of care.

Craig is one of our most seasoned and knowledgeable groomers. He knows this mountain inside and out. Every trail, every slope, and every condition. Years of experience have taught him when to be precise, when to be patient, and when to adapt. Snow changes, weather changes, equipment changes, but Craig has seen it all.

Over the decades, Craig has been a steady, reliable presence behind the scenes. While most of us are sleeping, he’s out there with the rest of the crew shaping the surface that thousands of guests and employees enjoy every day. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s essential, and Craig has done it with consistency and skill year after year. So much so, that we often get praised, not only for the quality of the snow, but also for how well groomed it is.

The plaque we gave Craig is a small way of saying thank you for his dedication, loyalty, and craftsmanship. His work has helped define the Jiminy Peak experience for generations of guests, whether they know his name or not.

Craig, thank you for over 35 years of hard work, expertise, and commitment to this mountain. We truly appreciate everything you do, and the difference you continue to make every single day.
